I would like an expressionist painting that captures all of the excitement and energy of a live jazz show. The pictures below are from a show at Preservation Hall in New Orleans in 2008. The brass band is playing very lively, New Orleans-style jazz. For some similar songs, check out "Rebirth Brass Band" or "Dirty Dozen Brass Band" on youtube. Please use these images and the music as your inspiration.
The piece should capture the excitement and energy of live jazz music while taking into account the humbleness of the venue and the musicians. I don't want the painting to be a recreation of the images below but it can include elements of them. For example you could incorporate the black and white "song request" sign somewhere in the piece. Regardless, the instruments and musicians should be the main focus of the piece. Ultimately, I would like more effort to be put into capturing the liveliness of the show rather than realistically depicting the musicians and instruments.
I would like the painting to be longer than it is wide. With your bid, please include the size you would like to create, the medium you would like to use, and a sketch of your idea. I'll keep the canvas open for at least a week to allow time for sketches.
